Hi there and happy Valentine’s Day. I’m so excited to be here with you today as part of the Catherine Pooler Zen Garden Release. You should have arrived here from the awesome Karen Baker, but if not don’t worry there is a hop list at the bottom of my post. Or you could even start at the beginning at Catherine’s Blog.
Today we are releasing new stamps, dies and new ink colours! So lots of amazing NEW products to be having fun with!
So firstly let’s take a look at the new products:
I have 3 cards to share with you, the first 2 showcasing Love Grows Stamp Set and the third is a little different:
I started with a panel a little narrower than my card base and stamped the fun chevron oval from Chevron Cheer over hanging the right side using Black Jack ink. I then stamped and white heat embossed flowers and leaves from Love Grows onto vellum and cut them with the coordinating dies.
For the sentiment I cut the Smile Die twice- once from black cardstock and once from black foam- and stacked these together with the cardstock die cut on top. I added a little wink of stella to this and some glossy accents and left to dry.
Once dry I added the sentiment into place and arranged the flowers and leaves and adhered with a tiny bit of foam tape at the centre. To finish I added some enamel dots to the centre of the flowers to cover the adhesive and add a little interest.
My second card is a little simpler but has a little more colour:
I started by stamping a sentiment from Zen Feather into place on my card base. This way I could work around the sentiment and not have to worry where the sentiment would go later. I then stamped flowers and leaves from Love Grows around the sentiment with black ink.
I then stamped the layers for the images using Rose Petals, Shea Butter and Seafoam inks. This card came together pretty quickly and is a great one to do if you are in need of a card in a hurry.
My third card has a very different feel to it:
I started by stamping the Doodle Garden Background partially onto my card base using black ink. I then used the splats from Eat, Sleep, Create Stamp Set to colour this …. in an abstract way. I used Shea Butter, Seafoam, Stone Blue, Polished and Rose Petals inks for the splatter effects.
I then stamped the sentiment and added some full stops with a black marker. To finish I covered the ‘create’ with a wink of stella and glossy accents.
Two winner’s will be chosen at random from each day’s comments and announced on Catherine’s blog. The winners will win the Zen Garden Ink Collection or if they already purchased it, they will be issued a Gift Certificate worth $45 towards a future purchase.
