Die-Cutting, Video

Video: Creating A cover Die Effect Using Singular Dies

Hello there everyone, and a very happy Tuesday ! I’m so sorry that I have been a little lax on the blog and I intend to be putting more time on it from now on 🙂 A lot has been happening here and I’ve even forgot to let you guys know that I have a new YouTube series going on over on the Altenew YouTube Channel and I’ll be adding it to my channel over the next couple of days 🙂

I already have a video similar to this but I really wanted to show that this can be used with many different dies. So on to the project:

I started out by taking a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ white woodgrain cardstock and cutting one of the roses from Rose Filament Die Set into place in the corner. You are going to want to make sure that you keep all of the pieces cut out as we will be coming back to them later. Take all of these pieces and add to a neat pile. Then take another of the roses add it into place and die cut. Again keep all of the bits cut into another pile. Keep doing this until you have cut as many roses out of the layer as you wish, having a separate pile for all of the roses cut.

Next add the piece of the layer that hasn’t been cut onto a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ acetate. Then add all of the die cut flowers in place. It’s kind of like a jigsaw puzzle and I find it really fun to put all of the pieces back into place.

I then added this onto a colored cardstock card base (Pale Gray, Blush and Parchment). To finish off I added a sentiment using Label Love Stamp Set (Permanent Black, Blush and Sand Dunes for the respective cards).

Here’s the step by step video or you can watch it over on my YouTube Channel:
