Video: Altenew September Release Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

Hi there and happy Wednesday. I’m so excited to be here with you today as part of the Altenew August Release. You should have arrived here from the awesome Svitlana, but if not don’t worry there is a hop list at the bottom of my post. Or you could even start at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog.

Today we are releasing new stamps, dies and re-inkers! So lots of amazing NEW products to be having fun with! I have had soooo much fun with these new products!!

My first project features Layered Laurel (one of my designs … eekkk) for use on a wedding invite:

I was inspired by the simple greenery wedding stationary I had seen, it just goes to show that this stamp set can definitely be used all year round!

I firstly printed out the wedding invitation and RSVP card and then went into stamping mode. I stamped the branch part first in Moss ink and then added the layers for leaves from lightest to darkest using Bamboo, Parrot and then Olive.

I just love the simplicity of this stamp set and that you can and as many leaf layers as you wish.

My next card uses Majestic Mistletoe (another of my designs):

As you can see I really into large branches at the moment LOL! I first stamped out the mistletoe branch that has the berries, I stamped the first layer in Forest Glades and then the shading layer in Evergreen. I stamped the back leaves in Frayed Leaf, you can use this image with or without the extra leaf images- I think it’s a classier look with them and a more fun look without. Once I had finished with the leaves I added in the berries. I used a white pigment ink for the base layer and Sand Dunes for the shading.

I then stamped in the other branch without the berries using the same colour combo as before.

For the sentiment I used Peace On Earth, I stamped one of the sentiments in embossing ink and heat set with gold embossing powder.

To finish I added some glossy accents to the berries and let dry.

My third project features Winter Rose and also includes a video:

For this card I used heat embossing as masking. I just love this technique as it means I don’t have to cut out any fiddly masks… lazy I know… but it works!

For a step-by-step on how I created this card please check out the video below or on YouTube:

As you can see it’s an easy way to mask off your images without even using masks.
