How To Create Fluffy Clouds With Embossing Paste

Hi there and happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a great day and I’m so happy you stopped by.

Today I’m sharing with you a super cute and fun card, and explaining how I created the glittery fluffy clouds in the background.

I using a NBUS stamp set- Avery Elle ‘Be A Unicorn’, I stamped the unicorn using Memento ‘Tuxedo Black’ ink and coloured using Copics and then added some extra depth and shadow using polychromos pencils. For some extra sparkle I added a Wink Of Stella over her.

For the background I used some watercolour card stock and added a blue watercolour wash and let this dry.

Now for the fun clouds! I created my own DIY stencil – I did this by taking a piece of cardstock and die cut clouds in place on it. Once the watercolour is dry I added the DIY cloud stencil on top and added white embossing paste over it so the negative cloud shapes are filled. Once they are covered remove the stencil, I would dispose of this but if made out of plastic it would be re-usable if washed.

I added some glitter on top of the still wet embossing paste and then heat set so the embossing paste bubbles. When it cools it will flatten and look ‘fluffy’.

To finish I added a sentiment from the same set and a few sparkling sequins.

I would really love to know what you think of my card! Please leave me a comment, maybe even subscribe to my YouTube channel or follow my blog. If your interested, I’m also on Facebook and I share sneak peeks of my projects (and my life) on Instagram.

Hope you have a beautiful day and I hope to see you again soon!
