China Blue

DSC06882c

Hello everyone and happy 2nd of the year! I’m so excited to be over on the Altenew blog. Today I’m sharing with you a clean and simple card using a smaller image from a set and making it my focal point.

When I first saw the little blossom branch from Beautiful Day it reminded me of those blue and white little china teacups, I don’t know why but it does, so I decided to run with this as my inspiration for a card. I stamped five of the blossom branch using Desert Night Crisp Ink, added a bit of colour to the blossom with a navy coloured pencil and then fussy cut them out. I added these behind a die cut circle cut from white card onto which I have stamped the greeting ‘Nothing Like A Mother’s Love’ from Wild Hibiscus, I added some the blossoms ontop of the circle to create more interest and focus the eye into the sentiment.

To add a little more interest I stamped the blossom branch repeatedly down the right hand side of my card blank in Dusk Crisp Ink before adding on a white card layer and then my focal sentiment piece.

I would really love to know what you think of my card! Please leave me a comment, maybe even subscribe to my YouTube channel or follow my blog. If your interested, I’m also on Facebook and I share sneak peeks of my projects (and my life) on Instagram.

Hope you have a beautiful day and I hope to see you again soon!

Hugs Lydia xxx
