Retro Rabbits

DSC06090b

Hi there and happy Saturday. As my little boy went back to school this week he wanted a pj day today…. and I am not going to argue with that so we have had time today to get a little inky.

I saw about a contest happing over at MFT, Card Design Superstar and I thought I might as well throw my hat into the ring. So I grabbed my favourite MFT stamp set, ‘Some Bunny’. When I saw this set it reminded me of a book called ‘Miffy’ it’s very retro in style so I thought I would go that way…..

I stamped lots of the images from the set onto some card and picked out five Copic markers…. yes just five and all different! There was going to be no shading on this card, I wanted to get the look of the old retro books where the printing was solid but didn’t quite match up to the image. It was more difficult that I thought to colour like this as my mind wanted to be neat and ‘colour-within-the-lines’ but that was not the look I was after.

As the background is so busy I wanted to keep the rest of the card super simple so I cut a white strip of card and added a sentiment from MFT ‘You Make My Day’ and a couple of enamel dots to match the colours of the rabbits dresses.

I would really love to know what you think of my card! Please leave me a comment, maybe even subscribe to my YouTube channel or follow my blog :) If your interested I’m also onFacebook and I share sneak peeks of my projects (and my life) on Instagram.

I hope you have a beautiful day and I will see you again soon.
