Watercoloured Layered Lily

DSC05956b

Hi there everyone, sorry I haven’t been around much, with the kids off school it’s hard to grab some crafty time. We do craft but when that happens the littles end up commandeering my craft desk so I don’t really get to play much lol. That being said, I had some awesome happy mail from Jessica from allthesparkle.com so I had to play with the goodies 😉

As I haven’t really had chance to play with challenges either I wanted to mix a couple into this card. I used the watercolour inspiration from ‘Create Something Catchy’, I used the colours of the jars on the table from the inspirational photo from Altenew, and Simon Says Stamp Monday’s challenge of using citrus colours.

I used Distress inks to get this look, for the flowers I used ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Mustard Seed’ and ‘Wild Honey’. The floral stamps are from Altenew and are called ‘Layered Lily’. I stamped the fullest lily image with the lightest ink, but before stamping onto my card I first stamped onto some scratch paper so the ink would be softer, and then used the 2nd generation ink left on the stamp to stamp my image. Once stamped I took a water brush and softened the image a little more. I then stamp the 2nd fullest image with the medium shade ink, again using the 2nd generation ink and then softening with a water brush. I did the same for the 3rd fullest image and the darkest ink colour.

The sentiment is from Essentials By Ellen ‘Mondo Magnolia’, and I finished the card with 3 sizes of Pretty Pink Posh ‘Sparkling Clear’.

I would really love to know what you think of my card! Please leave me a comment, maybe even subscribe to my YouTube channel or follow my blog :) If your interested I’m also on Facebook and I share sneak peeks of my projects (and my life) on Instagram.

I hope you have a beautiful day and I will see you again soon.

Hugs Lydia xxx
