Inky Techniques

Bright Dreams

DSC03685aIt has been a while now since I created a card for a challenge, nearly all of the cards I make recently are for DT positions and commissions so I thought it would be fun to start creating more for challenges and ‘get myself’ out there more.

The first challenge that caught my eye was Runway Inspired … they have a beautiful ispirational image to get ideas from this week … I took the pink with a splash of yellow as my inspiration.

To create this ombre effect I have used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and a blending tool and brought the ink in from the top edge. Every time I added more ink to the blending tool I would work from the top edge and then bring the colour in further little by little.

After competeling the background inking I stamped the large sentiment from MFT ‘Chalkboard Greetings Too’ in black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it shine. Then using Gold Glitz Delicata Ink I stamped some of the flowers and leaves from Lil Inkers ‘Mendi Flowers’ behind the sentiment, as the sentiment has been embossed it will resist the ink.

To finish I added a few splatters of Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and a few yellow enamel dots.

I would really love to know what you think of my card! Please leave me a comment, maybe even subscribe to my YouTube channel or follow my blog :) If your interested I’m also on Facebook and I share sneak peeks of my projects (and my life) on Instagram.

I hope you have a beautiful day and I will see you again soon.

Hugs Lydia xxx
