A very happy Saturday to you. Today I’m sharing with you a card that mixes modern neon and stripes with a classic subtle background and florals. My inspiration for this card comes from the lovely Joni Nina Andaya who is this months muse over at Case Study Challenge.
Firstly I cut a layer for my card slightly smaller than my base card. I find that working on a layer rather than straight onto your base card keeps your card cleaner. This layer I embossed with ‘Lovingly Baroque’ from Couture Creations.
I then cut two pennant flags out of card one thicker than the other. The larger of the two I inked with Hero Arts Neon Pink and the smaller I stamped the stripes from AE ‘Knotty’ set in Hero Arts Charcoal. When I placed these together I thought the neon was to bright and I wanted to take it back slightly so I added a vellum pennant over it.
The beautiful label shape is from WP9 ‘Very Vintage Florals’ and stamped in Memento London Fog. I added the floral from AE Love Notes using the Charcoal and Neon Pink again but added Thatched Straw Versa Magic for a little added colour. The stamped block sentiment is also from the AE set.
Now to introduce you to my new addiction….. die-cut metal words and confetti!!! I mean how cool is that ‘love’?!?! I die cut six of the love die from PS out of white card and stacked them up before finishing off with a gold metal die cut love. The hearts are also die cut from the same gold metal sheet using Mama Elephants Confetti Cuts die. To finish I added a couple of drops of enamel accents.
Thanks for checking this out and have a great day!
Hugs Lydia x
I’ll also be adding this to the linky at the AE challenge blog.
