Summery Floral Watercolours

Hi there my lovelies, I have been doing so much cleaning and tidying today….. guess what?!?! I even done my craft desk… gasp.. shock horror.. I am now a proud owner of a completely clear work space… well until tomorrow, that is lol.

I am sooo loving making watercolour backgrounds at the moment, this one was inspired by the photo over at Runway Inspired… the colours, the watercolour look and also the hints of gold.

Firstly on to watercolour card I stamped an embossed a number of the small florals from Avery Elles ‘Petals and Stems’ in clear so they would stay white and resist the watercolouring I was about to do. I then wet the whole watercolour paper panel until is was really wet and then took colour from my watercolour pencils using my water brush and dabbed the colour to the wet surface. The colours will run together but this creates a great effect.

I then stamped this fabulous sentiment from the Wplus9 set ‘Valentine’s Wishes’ set….. so loving the sentiments on this set .. another new favourite 😀 . I used super sticky tape along the top and bottom of the panel to add gold guilding flakes… so yummy.. the colours just looked great together. After attaching this panel to the base card I added a couple of sequins and enamel accents and the card was done.

Hope this brightened up your day a little.

Hugs, Lydia xxx
