    Monochromatic Watercolour Background

Hi there everyone! Lydia here with you today showing that you don’t need to use lots of different colours to create a watercolour background. For this card I used just one grey watercolour marker and Adore You Stamp Set!

I started by stamping flower and leaf clusters all over a piece of watercolour card with black ink using Adore You Stamp Set. Once I was happy with the amount of floral images I set to work. Using my single grey watercolour marker I added colour to the centres of the flowers and leaves. Then using a damp brush I pulled this colour out to colour the images. And then left to dry.

Once the flowers and leaves were dry I used the same grey marker to go around the outside of the images. Once again I then took a damp brush to soften out the colour around the edges. I have to say I’m really liking the effect this gives.

To finish I again took Adore You Stamp Set to stamp a sentiment onto the same dark grey card I used for my card base. I used an embossing ink so I could then emboss it in white embossing powder. When it had cooled I matted this onto some vellum before adding to the background with foam pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you give this monochromatic colouring a go!

    Hugs, Lydia.
